Exposition de Construction et d'Architecture Navales 1918 Original PosterThis poster is an advertisement for the Exhibition of Shipbuilding and Design of 1918 organized by the French Naval League (Ligue Navale Franaise). It gorgeously depicts the hull of a large ship, surrounded by scaffolding, as it is being constructed. A crane towers over the ship as it manoeuvres a large steel strut into place. The smaller image is of a seagull flying over a stormy sea. It was designed by French artist Andr VERDILHAN (1881 1963).
